Low ground pressure equipment is heavy equipment that has been specially designed to spread the weight of the equipment over a larger area. This allows it to move across terrain that is too soft for regular heavy equipment.

Picture of a Wilson Marsh Excavator demonstrating the low ground pressure pontoon undercarriage.
However, just spreading the load in this way is not enough to enable you to perform heavy work in soft ground, wetlands, marsh and swamp.

Take a look at the machine to the left. A person can’t even stand in this ground, yet this Wilson Marsh Excavator can do heavy work. This is true low ground-pressure in action.

This is due to the special design of the equipment. It doesn’t just spread the load, the undercarriage creates buoyancy, giving the machine capabilities between those of a barge and a regular excavator.

Read on to discover how we get this amazing performance, and how to put it to work for you.
